The other night we heard a random knock at the door. Mike assumed it was yet another student selling something. However, this time it was Mike's cousin, David, and his daughter, Madison. They live in our neighborhood and were on a walk when they decided to stop by.
Within minutes they noticed some of Jackson's toys from the Disney movie Cars, Jack's latest OBSESSION. We have a handful of cars, but I haven't been able to find some of the key characters from the movie. Come to find out, David is also a big fan and collects all the cars from the movie. I had no idea there were that many out there!
Last night we heard another knock. It was David again - this time with 2 big bags of toys this time. He went out yesterday and bought Jackson a race track/storage case, and a dozen new cars. Unreal! He was thoughtful enough to give Jack one bag now, and set aside the other bag for us to give him another time.
Needless to say, Jackson was beside himself with excitement. It's amazing how much of the movie he can reenact with those cars. It is also quite remarkable how much he loves the stuff! He played with the set for 3 straight hours before bed last night, and raced downstairs this morning after waking up to play more. He cracks me up when he makes Sally and Lightning McQueen kiss. He informed me today that Sally was the mommy and Lightning was the daddy and that "dey are a family. Dey love each other".

Jackson and Claire and Ava are right on the same page first about pirates and now the movie Cars. The girls are in love with this movie and every red car they see is Lightning and every blue car is Sally. It is ALL I hear in the car while we are driving these days!
