Boy & His Critters

We went to the Natural Science Museum again, but this time with our playgroup. Jackson talked the whole way there about petting the alligator's belly - and I was afraid that they would have different animals in the program. But, thankfully, the alligator was there, as were some new additions like a big lizard. He also LOVES all the insects and the dinosaur exhibits. Definitely all boy!

Another fun part of going to the museum is seeing the sights of downtown that we don't see in the 'burbs. Due to a city signs book we've had out from the library, he "reads" all the signs to me. He pointed out all the bus stops, taxis, fire station, and stop signs. Jackson also loved watching for the Walk/Don't Walk light to change.

Bring on the Water Works

Summer heat is coming early. Jackson has proven his love for the water did not waver during the winter. I get asked constantly about when we are going swimming next. Our neighborhood pool is only opened for the weekend until school is out, so we've been enjoying the giraffe pool in the backyard.

Gone Fishin' in TN

Jackson got to go fishin' with Granddaddy Pete (& Mimi took pictures) a few weeks ago. He loves this new fishing rod. We are amazed at how good he can cast it out! Although he hasn't caught fish lately since the new rod comes with a racecar "lure" - and he's perfectly content casting out the racecar and reeling it back in over and over!

Windley Whatnots

It's been a while since I've updated this here blog, so I thought I'd let you in on a few things that we've been up to:

1. Today we went to the Museum of Natural Science. Part of the fun was learning more about dinosaurs and touching creatures that have been around since the dinosaur. The teacher brought around a roach (no joke - and no, mommy did NOT touch it), a snake, a baby alligator, and a baby possum. Jackson touched all of them with no fear. There's a picture of him raising his hand enthusiastically to pet the snake. He laughed so hard when the teacher let him tickle the alligator's belly!

2. We had a visit from the Tunnel Monster. (Don't let the boogety eyes fool you - he's a friendly monster)

3. We went to a local town's spring festival.

More and Better Mater Shots

Here's a few more shots of Jackson and Mater, not taken from my cell phone! Also, one shot of Jackson going "tractor tippin'."

Our Little Race Car Driver

We had to get some work done on Courtney's car today so that meant we got to go to the Wake County Speedway! Which means, of course, that Jackson gets to see "Mater" and "Lightening McQueen!" This time, Jackson got to SIT in Lightening McQueen. We will hopefully go to a race sometime in the next few weeks on a Friday night. Anybody want to join us???
