Jackson favorite part of the trip was the Ripley's Aquarium and all the interactive things it had for children.

This odd sawfish was resting on top of the tunnel we walked through.

Jenny, Cheri, Matt, Jack and Ethan in the shark tunnel. Jackson LOVED seeing the sharks and stingrays so close.

A highlight was the visit to Cade's Cove. I have always loved that place and its raw beauty. Jackson really liked seeing the wild animals (turkey, deer, bear with its cub, snakes, etc) and seeing the old homesteads. It's like stepping back in time.

more of Surfside Beach trip

We spent the last 4 days with the Chandlers and the Wells at Surfside Beach. Jackson had such a great time with his buddies...

And, of course, Ryan

Jack loves everything about the ocean. He jumped waves, rode waves, went under waves, played in the sand and the giant holes Mr. Matt dug, and squealed with delight.

He had fun on the Wells' boogie board... this photo of Ryan trying to pull him cracks me up.


This one wasn't so funny. Daddy got a little too fast and Jack took a spill. He had a nice sand "strawberries" on his shoulder and face from that landing.

Beach 2008

So we are at the beach with the Chandler's and the Wells and I got to play "putt-putt" for the first time and loved it. Here I am with my buddies. I got really upset on hole #18 when I putted my ball in the hole and it disappeared! I cried but then Mr. Matt magically made my ball reappear (it was his) and everything was all better!
