Daddy's little helper

Jackson and daddy have tackled the leaves all day today. Jack has really been a great helper. His favorite part is helping daddy pack the leaves in the bags.

Arg, Matey!

Getting Jackson to wait until evening to Trick or Treat was difficult. He was ready from early on today! His level of excitement just continued to grow. Playing dress up is one of his favorite things right now, and he couldn't wait to be a pirate ALL DAY. (Note: his concept of a pirate comes from Veggie Tales' Pirates Who Don't Do Anything - hence, he called himself Larry the Pirate).

We went to our neighborhood's Fall Festival for a little bit first, where he did a scavenger hunt, costume contest, and balloon animals.

Then, cousin Ethan joined us and we FINALLY got to go get the candy.

Super Heros and Halloween

Jackson's latest fascination is definitely super heros. Daddy and Mommy get recruited to don capes and solve problems with Super Hero Wyatt (Jackson) and Super Hero Pig (Daddy or Mommy). The super hero names come from the show "Superwhy" on PBS.

And then today when daddy got home from work, we carved our pumpkin. Jackson did not want to put his hands in the pumpkin for fear of getting them dirty!?! Look for pictures of Jackson as a pirate on Halloween, though he was insisting while we were carving that he wanted to be a superhero for Halloween.

State Fair 2008

Yesterday we went with Grandmomma to the State Fair. Jackson was talking about it for days leading up to our visit, and it didn't disappoint!

We saw all the animals...

Mommy and Jackson holding the baby chicks and ducklings.

He was mesmerized by this talking little bus that interacted with him.

Lunchtime!

Jack's favorite part was the rides, of course. His 2 favorites are the bumper boats and this roller coaster. He was positively beaming.

Fall Festivities

Fall fun with friends on the farm...

My 'lil punkin at the Pumpkin Patch

Jackson REALLY wanted to sit on the 297lb pumpkin

Coming next week... our trip to the fair (or as some locals say "da far"). Can't wait! :)

clean freak

Jack currently has some sort of stomach virus. Last night he got sick at his stomach a couple of times. The crazy thing is that as soon as it happened, he was worried that someone needed to clean the floor and couch. He went on and on about cleaning it. Yes, it was a gross mess [sorry for the graphic image]. But, I thought it so odd that the filth is what he was worried about, not the fact that he felt bad! He spent all day today carrying around his trash can, by his own decision. He didn't want to be sick on the floor again.

Halfway through the day I started to see my normal little guy instead of the pitiful one. He looked at me and said, "Mommy, you are having a bad hair day". I cracked up! Where did he get that from?? I honestly don't think I've ever said that in front of him! And, in my defense, I got little sleep from his episodes and I was afraid to leave his side to go take a shower. So, yes, my hair looked pretty bad.

The benefit of having a hill...

Jackson can "sled" all year round.

Yesterday, we introduced cousin Ethan to this fun activity. Although his first go down ended a little roughly (sorry no pics of that!), he quickly forgot and LOVED the ride with Jackson.

And he couldn't get enough of it.

Little Rocker

For some reason, this is the only thing Jackson wants to make with his Tinker Toys.

Marbles with grandmomma

When grandmomma comes to visit she ALWAYS brings a big bag full of fun books and they share some reading time. Jackson asks for them within seconds of her walking in the door.

In addition to the book-reading, Mommy, Jackson, & Grandmomma went to the Marbles children's museum today and had the best time. Honestly, we ALL had a blast. The museum is wonderful and has tons of interactive and fun things for kids. Jack's favorites included a pirate ship, making a race car and racing it on a track, and the ambulance. So much to capture his imagination!

Did I mention he's obsessed with racecars?

We'll definitely be going back!
